Ever gone to your terminal and typed telnet, press enter, only to get this error : 'telnet' is not recognized as an internal or external command windows 7. I cursed. So telnet is enabled on the router but i can't telnet still.. Well, yeah. Apparently you need to install the telnet client on windows 7. Here goes:
Step 1. Go to Control Panel, then Programs (big green link)
Step 2. Click Turn Windows Features on or off (blue link)
Step 3. Check the box for Telnet Client
…and that’s it. But here is the annoying part: You need to restart your comp.. But this definately works.
