Windows XP Genuine Advantage notification.
That annoying warning n windows start up and at the bottom right, "You may be a victim of software counterfeiting..."
Causes:
Your windows is not genuine.
Effects:
You have a black wall paper through out, even when you change it, on restart it goes back to being black
Solution:
Buy a copy of Genuine Windows Licence.
In the meantime. Before it is delivered, here is how to get rid of that message before you buy another copy of windows.
1. Go to C:\Windows\System32 and search for wga. Rename all the files you find in the search results.
2. Go to start, type run, type regedit, follow this path /hkey_local_machine/software/Microsoft/WindowsNT/Currentversion/Winlogon/notify. Delete the folder Notify.
3. Restart your machine and you are good to go!
Now go get your elf a genuine windows copy :)
